Blinking Red Light on NetCallerID

Am I dreaming or did the blinking red light on the NetCallerID used to get cleared or turned off after WAFNCID processed a call? I don't remember it being on very often. It stays on all the time now. Its no big deal. I like little flashing lights. It looks cool... SHOULD it ever shut off? I can't remember....

Mine blinks if I have a voicemail message. My phone company provides the voicemail box. Once I clear the messages the light stops blinking.

Hmmm. Mine has been blinking for a few weeks. Today it is not....
