    DS2890 Device

I have installed a DS2890 1-wire POT using the xapmcs1wire program. In homeseer, it detects the pot as:

    ha com10.7900000005dbdb2c.unknown mcs.onewire.ha:com10.7900000005dbdb2c.unknown xAPBSC.info input.state Database

    ha com10.7900000005dbdb2c.unknown mcs.onewire.ha:com10.7900000005dbdb2c.unknown xAPBSC.info input.state DisplayText

    ha com10.7900000005dbdb2c.unknown mcs.onewire.ha:com10.7900000005dbdb2c.unknown xAPBSC.info input.state State

    ha com10.7900000005dbdb2c.unknown mcs.onewire.ha:com10.7900000005dbdb2c.unknown xAPBSC.info input.state Text

Does anyone know how I have change the value of the 1-wire pot? I tried to use hs.setdevicevalue on the 3rd device (xAPBSC.info input.state State) as it's the only variable device that was created. The others are read only. Thanks!

mcs 1-wire program not working with DS2890?

I also noticed that the DS2890 is not being read properly by the mcs 1-wire program? The following is from the i/o window in the xap 1-wire program:

The first two devices are temp sensors and they are working fine. The DS2890 receives a blank value. Any ideas?

I ordered samples of the device awhile back and have not received them. At this time there is no code in xapmcs1Wire to handle this device.

        Ds2890

Ok, thanks for the update on this Michael. Hopefully at some point I can use this device as part of a preamp for an amplifier. that way I can get the volume of my amplifiers via homeseer.

          DS2890 Chips

          Michael,

If you want, I can send you a few DS2890 chips if you feel like or have time to implement support.

That will work for me if it is through-hole rather than surface mount or if it installed on a test jig. Give me an email and I'll provide mailing info.
