Newbie: setting up the ocelot for dimming lights

    Hi Guys,

I'm planning to buy an ocelot soon to extend my HA setup (using x10 modules right now). One of my plans is to connect most of the lights in my house to the secu16. What do I need for dimming ? I understand I have to run a wire from the secu16 to the light, but what do I have to install between that wire and the actual lamp ?

Sorry if it sounds like a dumb question, although I've browsed this board alot, I'm not getting the whole picture, I think

    Thanks for any replies

Why do you not use the x10 modules for dimming?

      Rupp,

I could use the x10 modules, but they are really expensive over here (holland). My idea was to buy the initially more expensive ocelot and secu16, but be more flexible when I want to add an extra lamp to be controlled.

For other devices than light (eg. coffeemachine), I only need to install a relay between the device and the ocelot, right?

Thanks for your response so far !
