    IR Code for amplifier

I am starting to put in whole house audio and I just purchased a Sony STRDE-185 amp. I am going to control it with IR and I would like to be able to switch the A or B speaker switches on/off with the IR but the supplied remote doesn't have this feature. Does anyone know if this is possible with IR? If so, does anyone have the code to do it. I have a Pronto so if the code is in that format that is OK.

    Thanks for any help.

The place to look for IR codes is
    here.

    For Sony equipment, look up
    Sony IR Codes.

    Good luck

These seem like the most likely candidates generated with MakeHex from information contained in the Sony link that JC Terrier posted:

      Device Code: 24 Function: 64 - A On

      0000 0067 0000 000D 0061 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0030 0426

      Device Code: 24 Function: 66 - B On

Device Code: 24 Function: 69-A/B Off

Try these in your Pronto to see if they work. If so, you can then paste them into IR-Max (AppDig's new IR utility) to create that command in the Ocelot's lir file.

Thank for the help and the links. But the codes didn't work with the amp. They did work with my other Sony amp so at least I know I did something right. Maybr the A-B speaker switches aren't remote controled. But thanks again for the help.

If your receiver is set for the alternate IR device code, then these may work.

If not and the others worked to control the speakers for your other Sony receiver, it probably means it doesn't respond to IR commands for that function.

Thanks again for trying with the new codes but they don't work either. So I am assuming that the A-B speaker switch isn't controled by the remote. I will have to try another route. Again thanks for your help with this.
