    SECU-16 Inputs and Events?

Have a couple of questions. I have the SECU16 with digital inputs and was wondering the best way to handle changes (from on to off, etc.) inside of an event? Also, I have some neat .bmp icon images that report the on/off state of things like T.V.'s, Mailbox, Draperies, etc., and I was wondering how to display them on the homeseer web page for both the on/off, open/closed states according to the SECU16 input status changes? Also was wondering what the quickest way to do this is as far as response time to an input change on the SECU-16. Thanks for your help in advance !!!!!!!!

Are you using CMAX code to trigger events, or are you looking for HomeSeer to do everything?

Basically in HS you can set an event to trigger on a device status change (Changed to Any Status). When this happens, you then set the Device String in the device to a bit of HTML specifying the image...

Note that the HS GUI won't display this, though the web page will..

If you need specific details, I can dig up my code to do this.

      Brian,
Thanks for your reply. I am relying on Homeseer to do everything. I would like to see an example of doing it both ways if that is possible. Also, which way would give the fastest response? Basically if the input is one state, I would display one icon and if it is at the other state I would display a different icon. Not sure how to set this up in Homeseer? Seems like I would also need a script for the logic. If the state is one way I display this icon and if it is the other state I display a different icon. Examples would be great if you can do that. Also would be interested in how to do the code in CMAX and have a variable accessible to Homeseer. Is this really necessary and if so, is it just because of the slower response from homeseer? Thanks again Brian.

        Brian,
So far I haven't been very successful in working with the SECU16 digital inputs with Homeseer. I have all the devices set up and recognized by Homeseer. I have also verified via CMAX Software that the digital input is indeed changed from on to off at the appropriate activation. Homeseer device screen doesn't show the change in status and it seems it should. It seems it should tell me if the status is on or off. Is this correct? Basically in the web page, I would like to have a device called denTV and a TVOn .bmp file would be displayed when the tv is on and a TVOff .bmp file would be displayed in the status area when the tv is turned off. Not having any luck doing this and any help you could lend would be much appreciated. Right now I have an event set up named TVOn that is triggered by "status change" and specifically "changed to on". Then in the script tab, I have the following one line script:
        hs.SetDeviceString "]1","<img src='tvon.bmp'>TVOn"
Does this script line look correct? Now that I think of it, I should have created a device called dentv and associated it with SECU16 Input 0 and then created a script to handle the fact that I want one .bmp file to be displayed when the tv is on and a different .bmp file to be displayed when the tv is off. Does it sound like I am on the correct track in my thinking, and what would be the best way to implement this with Homeseer? Thanks again for all of your help. Also, if you have sample script code that I could look at, this would help alot. Thanks again for all of your help !!!!!!!

            Brian,
Haven't heard from you. Hope everything is o.k.
Still could use some help with the SECU16 inputs, etc. Thanks again for your help.

              Rick,

Sorry I didn't respond yet. Been swamped with work and other things (yard maintenance both at home and at the church (it was my week)), and on the HA side had a relay go out on my SECU16... that was controlling my sprinklers, so had to rewire the original controller back in until my replacement relays get in from DigiKey and I can solder them in. :-(

I'll get back to you as soon as I get a bit of extra time to play with it.

I'm in the same boat with my SECU-16. C-Max does what I want with it but Homeseer found the interface and variables but they don't change state. I know I'm missing something but haven't found out what it is.
                  Thanks

I am using the ADIOcelot plugin. it is based on the stock HS OCELOT plugin but it is easer to manage and you only have to show the veriables and IO devices you are using.

If Homeseer is not seeing the changes in Secu16 IO ports then you must not have the plugin installed correctly. Try running removing the plugin. restart homeseer then run the updates option from HS help menu. Download the latest ADIOCELOT plugin and install it.

When you have it installed you will be able to select which veriables IO devices etc you want to show up in homeseer. you can even rename the devices and sync the names to the Leopard. I use the secu16 device to monitor many things such as door switches doorbel washer drier etc and everything is doen from homeseer scripts I have no CMAX code at all. I am also controling the screens button touches etc from homeseer and it is very fast. If you want some examples I would be glad to post them....
