I have homeseer with an Omni II pro which is connected via ethernet. I cannot seem to get the software to communicate witht the panel correctly. When I use the plugin and restart, it hangs and need to be shut down with task manager. I am new to homeseer but can't understand why it won't communicate. I have programmed the panel with pc access and know it is online and running properly otherwise. Any suggestions as to what could be the problem? Also which X10 controller in on the omni? Thanks for the help I need it right now...

Do you have a serial connection with HAI and your Homeseer box? Currently the plug-in will not work over the ethernet connection. HAI was supposed to supply a DLL to allow this to work but to date they have not. You need to connect it to serial and then set up the proper com port within the plug-in.

Well that would certainly explain it. Yes I have the serial connection and will use it for the time being. Why would they release the board with an ethernet controller when it really doesnt function as a true device for ethernet connections? Gotta love some of these manufacturers.
Ok then last question... what X10 controller is on the Omni II pro to use with homeseer?
thanks again

Coming into this late...
The Ethernet port works fine, but HAI just did not give us interface developers a "hand up" like they said they would by providing some interface DLLs that we could use. So now, to support communicating via the Ethernet interface, I have to write an encryption routine (to their specifications) besides handling the Ethernet communication. Neither should be too hard, just time consuming when all of my time is consumed! Trying to get WebCam put down long enough to switch to the HAI plug-in!
Anyway...
The other issue is that while there are some limited abilities for the panel to be used as an X-10 interface for HomeSeer, ... DON'T DO IT ... It is one of the worst devices I can see being used for X-10 in history. Not that the panel is bad at X-10, but the interface to the panel is horrible. e.g. If I turn a device on with HomeSeer, then it logs an entry in the event log of the panel, which HomeSeer then picks up as an acknowledgement and to update the status of the device. However, if you DIM a device, or if you operate the device from an HAI console, then you get no message! This also means that dim commands RECEIVED by the HAI do NOT get into the event log for HomeSeer to pick up on. Thus, the longer polling loop that the plug-in does just to keep thermostats and other things in sync will eventually catch those values, but you don't want an X-10 interface that tells you about an X-10 signal 30 seconds after it was received do you?
Get a PowerLinc USB interface if cost is a concern and use that with HomeSeer. You can leave the X-10 interface on the HAI system, but use it for things such as turning on all of the lights in the house when there is a fire. That way, if the fire breaks out near the HS PC and it is incapacitated, the panel might still get the lights turned on.
