Matt, I'm with you. I don't use HS yet, but am getting close. One thing that is encouraging to me is that I have a Dell running XP. It is interfaced to SG and runs WinEVM. It also provides Internet radio for whole-house audio. It is on 24/7 and has given me NO problems in a year of continuous operation. The only reboots have been those required to install the monthly updates from MS. (I hope I haven't jinxed myself!!) In addition, I have another Dell running Win95, no less, that has been running continuously for almost two years, again with NO problems.
I think that if you dedicate a computer to HA, do not use it for web surfing and email, avoid opening and closing windows and starting and stopping multiple applications every day, and you operate behind a firewall and router, the MS problems are significantly reduced.
We are probably many years away from anything PC based that is as robust as SG, but if I keep the important stuff on SG, then I'm thinking HS is a promising way to expand into options that SG doesn't support, especially if the new plug-in works well.
