This has been great seeing the sudden progress on the plugin. I'm having a problem, though - wondering if it's just me & mine, or if anyone has a suggestion: HS launches just fine with no errors, but when I go to the IR page and attempt to send an IR command via the IRXpander, HS crashes. Always worked fine under 1.7. Anyone have ideas?

Andy, how are you navigating to the IRXP command page in HS?
I installed the free IRXP plug-in from the HS updater but cannot find the configure page.

Ok, I found the small dialog box for the IRXP that pops-up BEHIND the current Plug-In Interfaces page. I still cannot find the IRXP command page though.

You need to make sure that under the "WEB SITE" tab that "Infrared Signals" is set to "yes." Once you save this there should appear an "IR SIGNALS" button at the top of the page. I'm not sure whether the IRXpander plugin is needed since I'm using Stargate to control the IRXpander. I DO have the IRXP plugin installed & have wondered whether that's causing any grief with things with the new JDS plugin. At least the startup log says it initializes the IRXpander plugin (I can't find it anywhere). I thought maybe it had something to do with hspi_jdsir.ocx, so I moved this file only to find that it's recreated upon HS bootup.

HS Crashing with SG Plugin/IR control?

Posted this last week & haven't really heard back from anyone (couple messages up) so I thought I'd ask again. HS crashes bad every time I try to issue an IR command from the IR commands web page. Have the latest SG plugin, but I'm unsure whether the IRXpander plugin is installed - I DO know that when HS boots the log shows it's initializing the IRXpander plugin (so I guess it's there), but I can't find any trace of it in the HS directory. That probably just means I don't recognize it, but anyway:

I don't have the IRXpander connected to my PC, but rather to Stargate, so am I correct in assuming the IRxpander plugin is moot? Wondering whether there's some kind of conflict? Is this just me?

I did change the Learning procedure for IR commands, but the rocedure to send IR commands has not been touched and only sends out a text string to the stargate. I will post a build in just a bit that fixes some import issues, but I do not see this error.

Is there any other information you can give me on the crash? From what it soulds like, this seems to be a big, instant-gone-no-info crash, but if there is some sort of dialog or log message that you see I might be able to figure this out.

Crashes occur not every time I hit an IR command, but about every third or fourth button press. When it works, the command may issue upwards of 30 to 45 seconds afterwards. Below is the bootup after a crash. I note that there seem to be two plugins installed for JDS, but I can't seem to locate the old one in HS (to delete?). I've even moved all the old JDS plugin folders under the Updates folder elsewhere, & still get the extra plugin message. Also have tried to rid myself of the IRXpander plugin (don't think I need that?). If I need to unregister anything, I'm not sure what it is. All apparent JDS related files in HS root directory include: hspi_jdsir.ocx, HSPI_STARGATE.dll, hspi_stargate.ocx, and jds_hspi.dll. Can't capture debug messages in time? Also have attached what little I COULD get from a Microsoft error message.

On the polling intervals that you have configured, did you configure this via the plugin "Config" page or via the device itself? If you configrued the polling on the device, I do not beleive it will work. If it was done throught the plugin page however, this is a problem that I need to look into.

Hi Gang-

The latest build (Beta 7) SHOULD fix polling issues. With all the changes being made to the plugin, polling and COM were moved into the same thread, and thus polling would get no response from coms, since it was written and waiting elsewhere. They are now separated, allowing polling to occur independently and still get the needed updaes.

It is starting to look like the plugin is ready for some sort of release at this point, or at least a BETA in the updater. I would really like to know within the next week or so if there are still outstanding issues that need to be resolved. Post them in this thread, send me an email at RJ[at]homeseer.com, or open a helpdesk ticket and I will do my best to get them resolved ASAP.

I only had about 10 minutes to test so here goes:

Using Beta 7:

X10 is now working - Control and status is correct.

Analog: My anaglog devices seem to have their correct Values and labels (names) as listed in my SG device database.

Flags: Labels are good and the few status' I looked at are correct also.

It even looks as though all of my security devices from my Caddx NX-8E are listed correctly!! (Snoopy Dance!)

I do have some errors in the log similar to Pierre's except mine are in English! <g>
