    Still having pronlems with Flags

I have reloaded stargate plugin, so I should have the latest plugin. Stargate winevn is version 4.00, and the firmware on stargate is 4.0 as well. I think you have solved 95% of the issues with these flags but what I am trying to do is causing setIO errors and the change is not being recieved on SG.

I am watching the DSC alarm from HS and looking for a change in status for each door, if there is a change I am trying to set a flag on SG (to reduce x10 traffic) that recognizes the door open. I get the following on the log and the flag does not get set.

    <TABLE cellSpacing=2 cellPadding=0 width="100%" border=0><TBODY><TR><TD class=LOGDateTime0 noWrap align=left>8/25/2006 9:26:45 AM </TD><TD class=LOGType0 align=left colSpan=3>DSC PANEL </TD><TD class=LOGEntry0 align=left colSpan=8>Front Door is not secure</TD></TR><TR><TD class=LOGDateTime1 noWrap align=left>8/25/2006 9:26:45 AM </TD><TD class=LOGType1 align=left colSpan=3>Info </TD><TD class=LOGEntry1 align=left colSpan=8>Event Trigger "Trigger Front door open"</TD></TR><TR><TD class=LOGDateTime0 noWrap align=left>8/25/2006 9:26:45 AM </TD><TD class=LOGType0 align=left colSpan=3>JDS StarGate </TD><TD class=LOGEntry0 align=left colSpan=8>Error in SetIO, Conversion from string "%" to type 'Double' is not valid.</TD></TR><TR><TD class=LOGDateTime1 noWrap align=left>8/25/2006 9:26:45 AM </TD><TD class=LOGType1 align=left colSpan=3>Info </TD><TD class=LOGEntry1 align=left colSpan=8>Device: Door Sensor Flag JDS Front DR Snsr (%8) ON</TD></TR><TR><TD class=LOGDateTime0 noWrap align=left>8/25/2006 9:26:45 AM </TD><TD class=LOGType0 align=left colSpan=3>DSC PANEL </TD><TD class=LOGEntry0 align=left colSpan=8>Partition 1 not ready s = 6511CD</TD></TR><TR><TD class=LOGDateTime1 noWrap align=left>8/25/2006 9:26:45 AM </TD><TD class=LOGType1 align=left colSpan=3>Database Item </TD><TD class=LOGEntry1 align=left colSpan=8>Saving Device DSC Partition 1 Status</TD></TR><TR><TD class=LOGDateTime0 noWrap align=left>8/25/2006 9:26:50 AM </TD><TD class=LOGType0 align=left colSpan=3>DSC PANEL </TD><TD class=LOGEntry0 align=left colSpan=8>Front Door is secure</TD></TR><TR><TD class=LOGDateTime1 noWrap align=left>8/25/2006 9:26:50 AM </TD><TD class=LOGType1 align=left colSpan=3>Info </TD><TD class=LOGEntry1 align=left colSpan=8>Event Trigger "Trigger Front door Closed"</TD></TR><TR><TD class=LOGDateTime0 noWrap align=left>8/25/2006 9:26:50 AM </TD><TD class=LOGType0 align=left colSpan=3>JDS StarGate </TD><TD class=LOGEntry0 align=left colSpan=8>Error in SetIO, Conversion from string "%" to type 'Double' is not valid.</TD></TR><TR><TD class=LOGDateTime1 noWrap align=left>8/25/2006 9:26:50 AM </TD><TD class=LOGType1 align=left colSpan=3>Info </TD><TD class=LOGEntry1 align=left colSpan=8>Device: Door Sensor Flag JDS Front DR Snsr (%8) OFF</TD></TR><TR><TD class=LOGDateTime0 noWrap align=left>8/25/2006 9:26:50 AM </TD><TD class=LOGType0 align=left colSpan=3>DSC PANEL </TD><TD class=LOGEntry0 align=left colSpan=8>Partition 1 ready s = 6501CC</TD></TR><TR><TD class=LOGDateTime1 noWrap align=left>8/25/2006 9:26:50 AM </TD><TD class=LOGType1 align=left colSpan=3>Database Item </TD><TD class=LOGEntry1 align=left colSpan=8>Saving Device DSC Partition 1 Status</TD></TR><TR><TD class=LOGDateTime0 noWrap align=left>8/25/2006 9:26:55 AM </TD><TD class=LOGType0 align=left colSpan=3>DSC PANEL </TD><TD class=LOGEntry0 align=left colSpan=8>Front Door is not secure</TD></TR><TR><TD class=LOGDateTime1 noWrap align=left>8/25/2006 9:26:55 AM </TD><TD class=LOGType1 align=left colSpan=3>Info </TD><TD class=LOGEntry1 align=left colSpan=8>Event Trigger "Trigger Front door open"</TD></TR><TR><TD class=LOGDateTime0 noWrap align=left>8/25/2006 9:26:55 AM </TD><TD class=LOGType0 align=left colSpan=3>Info </TD><TD class=LOGEntry0 align=left colSpan=8>Device: Door Sensor Flag JDS Front DR Snsr (%8) ON</TD></TR><TR><TD class=LOGDateTime1 noWrap align=left>8/25/2006 9:26:55 AM </TD><TD class=LOGType1 align=left colSpan=3>JDS StarGate </TD><TD class=LOGEntry1 align=left colSpan=8>Error in SetIO, Conversion from string "%" to type 'Double' is not valid.</TD></TR><TR><TD class=LOGDateTime0 noWrap align=left>8/25/2006 9:26:55 AM </TD><TD class=LOGType0 align=left colSpan=3>DSC PANEL </TD><TD class=LOGEntry0 align=left colSpan=8>Partition 1 not ready s = 6511CD</TD></TR><TR><TD class=LOGDateTime1 noWrap align=left>8/25/2006 9:26:55 AM </TD><TD class=LOGType1 align=left colSpan=3>Database Item </TD><TD class=LOGEntry1 align=left colSpan=8>Saving Device DSC Partition 1 Status</TD></TR><TR><TD class=LOGDateTime0 noWrap align=left>8/25/2006 9:26:59 AM </TD><TD class=LOGType0 align=left colSpan=3>DSC PANEL </TD><TD class=LOGEntry0 align=left colSpan=8>Front Door is secure</TD></TR><TR><TD class=LOGDateTime1 noWrap align=left>8/25/2006 9:26:59 AM </TD><TD class=LOGType1 align=left colSpan=3>Info </TD><TD class=LOGEntry1 align=left colSpan=8>Event Trigger "Trigger Front door Closed"</TD></TR><TR><TD class=LOGDateTime0 noWrap align=left>8/25/2006 9:26:59 AM </TD><TD class=LOGType0 align=left colSpan=3>Info </TD><TD class=LOGEntry0 align=left colSpan=8>Device: Door Sensor Flag JDS Front DR Snsr (%8) OFF</TD></TR><TR><TD class=LOGDateTime1 noWrap align=left>8/25/2006 9:26:59 AM </TD><TD class=LOGType1 align=left colSpan=3>JDS StarGate </TD><TD class=LOGEntry1 align=left colSpan=8>Error in SetIO, Conversion from string "%" to type 'Double' is not valid.</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

It appears that my flags work well when changed in SG then echoed to HS but the opposite is not true

Thanks for any light you can shed on this

RJ, running plugin 11c. I reimported my devices and must say what you did with the security device values (Faluted, Bypass, Trouble) is IMPRESSIVE.
However, when I fault a security zone it do not see an entry from it in the log.
I created a flag in SG to follow the state of this particular security zone and I do see the flag state change in the HS log when the zone is faluted/secured. Also, the security devices, which device type should they be? I have a choice of digital input, analog input, digital output, and interface variable. I have been using interface variable but once again, I cannot trigger an event from the security Device Value Change.

      Am I doing something wrong?

      Thank you Agent 'J'!!

        Disregard my comments on flags

I downloaded the latest plugin and the problem with flags going from HS to SG is gone... Great work Agentj"

        Thanks

          Flags State Viewed from WinEVM

Great work, "Agent J"! Troops, it looks like the HS <-> SG Flag state change works (for at least the various scenarios I checked). One thing though. If HS changes an SG flag, WinEVM will not "see" it until MegaController is refreshed.

            KLS-

We don't have a CADDX system to test with here. Can you post a log snipet that I can look at with debug enabled, while you change things on the panel? That way I might have an example to work off of.

Hello RJ - here is a debug log snipet and some comments within.
Let me know if I can help in anyway!

                  Hi Guys-

Beta 11d fixes security Zone Events. Events should trigger on security changes now.

                    Ok Agent 'J', 11d is a winner!
I Can trigger an event from a security device when I fault the device and use the "Becomes: Faulted" value change trigger.
I was a little fooled because initially I had the "Becomes" value set to 'Faulted, Trouble'. I guess I have some readng to do so I can determine what 'trouble' is. Maybe it is dead battery. Anyway, I did not see anyting in the log when I faulted a zone but it sure did trigger my event!
I just don't know what to say at this time except thank you very much for all of your work. Now speaking for me only, I don't have anything else as far as functionality I need from the plugin. I may find something later but we can address that if/when it happens.

I haven't tried any of the Stargate Control Panel phone stuff so I don't know if that works. I do know the read Message and Phone logs doesn't work but the read status does work. Now, that is nothing to me since I plan on using HS phone when I get around to it.

Anyhow, I want to thank you again for your wonderful support. Thibnk about it: In the last six weeks you have incorporated several "Holy Grail" functions and support into the plugin!

Thank you Agent 'J' and thank you HS!!!111oneoneone

                      &quot;Agent J&quot; is a Winner!

What an understatement! C'mon, Troops! Support "Agent J"! Support HS! Take heart! There is a bright light at the end of the tunnel! Ignore those few "Naysayers" among us who cannot see the forest for the trees; who give up without even really trying; who complain about all the Beta releases because they've got "bugs"; who think HS can guarantee perfection in nanoseconds; who think HS is doing this because they're "greedy"! Phooey! HS working is toward a robust, stable, smooth interface between HS & SG simply because it's good business!

                      Cheers, "Whitey" (aka cairndhu1@cox.net)

I definitely recommend it. HS 2.1 is very stable now and 2.2 was just released. The Stargate plugin is MILES above anything that has been done to date between SG and HS. People need to realize just how powerful the marriage between SG and HS will become. We need more input and testing with the SG plugin but I can say from my experience it works GREAT! You may have other functionality and configuration requirements than I do so you may find something I am not aware of.
Give it a try and hop on board!

Guys - thanks for the "review" of the new plugin, and thanks Agent J. Because of limited personal time, I have been sitting on the sidelines watching the struggle. I really appreciate those of you who have spent the time and helped develop and debug the plugin.

It looks like it's time for me to jump in and upgrade from HS 1.7. I'm building a new HS machine right now.

                            I'll be joining you soon.

                            Thanks again,

Absolutely a big fat waytogo, RJ! It's much appreciated out here in "whatthehecknow?" land (that in reference to all things automated). For everyone else, are you aware that the plugin makes a Mainlobby interface possible for Stargate? I've been using the three together for about a year now, and aside from the built-in oopsies that come from two links in the chain, it's pretty neat!

I just downloaded 11d, then re-imported teh security devices, but cannot see them change when a zone is opened. Flages that are tripped by Sg when a zone opens are still updated.
