Which controller for the Wayne-Dalton thermostat?

I'm starting to get into z-wave here, but have yet to purchase a pc-interface. One of the things we want to purchase is the Wayne-Dalton Z-Wave thermostat (the one for $125).

If I go the Smartstick route, can I add the thermostat to the network by using the Master Remote Controller (HA07C) then transferring it to the smartstick? Due to the placement of the HS server, I won't be able to move the smartstick close to the thermostat. Is the Z-Troller the wiser choice here?

    Your expertise is appreciated!

I have the z-troller with two of those thermostats - works great. My z-troller is in a wiring closet, which, coincidentally is on the adjacent wall for one of the thermostats, so the polling and setpoints are fairly reliable.

From a reliability standpoint, this is good to hear. My wiring closet will end up being about five feet away from the thermostat, but that wiring closet is another project.
