Check out the startup.txt and shutdown.txt files in the scripts directory. A call to hs.sendmail should work here.

You'll need to configure your email in HS first, then add the following line to your scripts/startup.txt:
      hs.sendEmail "toEmail@somewhere.com","fromEmail@somewhere.net","HomeS eer Startup","HomeSeer has started up."

I'm not sure about shutdown, since it only gets called when HS is shutdown from the menu or script.

Here is mine from my startup.txt script:

        'Send email when HomeSeer starts.
        hs.SendEmail "toemail@something.com", "fromemail@something.com", "HOMESEER ALERT: HomeSeer has restarted.", ""

This is from my shutdown.txt script:

        ' send email
hs.SendEmail "toemail@something.com", "fromemail@something.com", "HOMESEER ALERT: HomeSeer is shutting down.", ""

I think so - that startup.txt should be run right after HS is started and ready to go. Just use hs.triggerEvent "myevent"

Someone can confirm to me that works for shutdown?
For the homeseer startup no problem, i receive the email but for shutdown no mail
                My shutdown vb script:

                HTML Code:
                Sub Main(Parm As Object)

                hs.SendEmail("cris****.****@gmail.com", "do.cris@gmail.com", "", "", "HOMESEER ALERT:", "HomeSeer is shutting down", "")

                End Sub
                (the same for the startup)

                Thanks
