    More Speaker Woes

I moved this from HS3 forum. I didn't see this one. Running HS2 Pro.

For about 5 years I haven't been able to use Speaker on my Windows 7 machine. It answered to every sound. Car horn? "Yes?" Thunder? "Yes?"

The only advice I got on the forums was to delete Windows 7 and install XP. Obviously that wouldn't work.

Since I couldn't use Speaker I didn't want to invest in HS3. However, I've just switched to Windows 10 and thought I'd give it another shot.

I uninstalled speaker and reinstalled. I can't connect now. "Not Authorized". I'm set at Default/default. Have I forgotten something over the years or is this creature just going to continue to frustrate me.

Just to rule it out, try creating a new user called "speakerclient" and give it a password. Then configure your speaker client to use it.

OK. New user did it. I'm connected now. My Speaker icon stays red in the tray which is annoying but I can live with it. My mic volume is too low to do anything but that's a Windows problem I guess. I do have it telling me what's going on however. Thanks for the help.
