Found source of problem - "cannot connect, check server name" on ipad/iphone

Hi,

We had a problem where the iphone/ipad would connect on a local network but not remotely.

This is very probably down to us using an O2 (UK) sim card as we narrowed it down to that conclusion. Hope that helps someone too.

Did you make sure the local connection was closed before you tried accessing HSTouch through 3G if you are running OS4 and it is multi threading and the application is trying to access it locally first.

I found the same issue wih the O2 simm card - it will work sometimes, but is not reliable.

I had the same problem on O2 with a 3GS phone. However, since I recently updated the iOS to 4.3.4 the issue is completely resolved. I have been able to connect from anywhere in the UK and even from Portugal without a single issue. Try updating your OS on the iPhone and see if that helps you too.
