Anyone using RAM disks to boost performance?

I saw this deal on Bitsdujour (actually it was $9 yesterday and $14.50 today) http://www.bitsdujour.com/software/softperfect-ram-disk. I tried this on a Eee nettop touchscreen all in one with an Atom N270 processor which works good but could use a little more oomph. I put my skins directory and HSTouch .exe file on a 512mb RAM drive and have to say there is noticible improvement in how quickly graphics load.

I have acutally also moved HS to a RAM drive on an Atom based HS server I am trying out. Pretty cool that I could have all my HA software in virtual memory. Supposed to be much quicker than SSD drives.

    Anyone else experimenting with this?

    Great idea Matt!

I am using a free ram disk (attached) on my netbook with 4Gb or ram and its always worked well.

Never thought of using it for HS Touch or Homeseer.
