If you have VirtualBox - no reason you can't download Windows 10 image.
Also I'm doing .NET version of their 'tool' - with minimal functionality, i.e. discovery and setting WiFi.
But my 3 yo daughter get sick, we spent 6 hrs in ED today, so no ETA

alexbk66, your plugin works very well
I added another SSID to my router with sonoffDiy.
Status is changing when i switch local on the device.
If I disconnect the status is changing.

The mini Sonoff has connection in my barn 30m away from router and through a concrete wall. I also tested in my garage ca 40-50m away and through a metal roof. (my router is in a window so signal just passes one wall and glass)

Yeah, Sonoff devices are pretty good.
They just need to simplify the initial paring procedure.

I will still check the code, it shouldn't throw exception in TrimNameToId. But it's gonna be hard to test

News from Sonoff, they are improving their firmware:

We are still collecting more suggestions from home automation community.

We summarized most of the issue on the Github which you have involved.

                          * simplify the device set up procedure with AP mode
                          * simplify to update the device firmware
                          * API of "Get Device Info" should be an object instead of strings ( maybe optimized but you have the way to transformation)
                          * we are creating a Dimmer, you will see it very soon, maybe next month or Dec

Will your plugin support the Sonoff 4CH Pro (R2) unit?

                            Thanks,

                            Scott

I intend to support all Sonoff devices with DIY firmware. By DIY they mean local control (REST API) - without using cloud server.

Currently Sonoff have only three DIY devices:

                              https://www.itead.cc/sonoff-basicr3-...rt-switch.html
                              https://www.itead.cc/sonoff-rfr3.html
                              https://www.itead.cc/sonoff-mini.html

Also they are working on dimmer switch, which is very welcome.

So my plugin will support new DIY devices when (if) Sonof make DIY firmware for them.

On their company site they list 10 DIY products, but they wouldn't be the first company to list products that aren't available yet as if they were.
