This one? "Motion Sensor Trap" is an original Motion Sensor, "The Device Type is not.." is version II.

can you look through the hs log when you added the motion sensor to the plugin. there should be a log entry that reports the 4 digit device type code

it should be one of the following "1001", "1004", "1005"

also check the insteon.ini for the [device x] section for devicetype= entry

I let the plugin make an error log file and found an unknown device type 1017 with the Insteon ID of the sensor:

In the Insteon.ini file I only found DeviceType=1004. This is the original motion sensor.

Maybe 1017 is the device type of the European variant?

I have posted beta 3.0.7.17 in the Updater. Please shutdown the plugin, update to this version, and then register your devices.

How many devices do you have registered with the plugin using the Hub?

The hub seems like its the one having troubles. every message it receives begins with the following which is garage as far as I can tell:

                    "803C3C050021000038000000000000000000000000CF06"

do you have any insteon devices that have an ID similar to any 6 digits above?

Either way, please run the 'reset and reprogram interface' from the config page. this will clear the hub database, and reprogram it. then manually factory reset the MS II, and register it.

                      I have 38 devices registered at the hub 24 Insteon, 14 X10
                      Hub 4.8A Build Feb 08 2013
                      PLM version 9C

No device ID with any digits resembling anything in the string.

Result 'reset and reprogram interface': The PLM did not reset properly. Please try again.

                      Reset motion sensor: No result.

After 'Update programming on all new and updated devices' and relocating the motion sensor away from the Hub so it needed an extra hop suddenly the device is recognised and added to the 'Registered Insteon Devices'.
The only problem I can see right now is a temperature of 121.6 although I set the unit to Celsius.

you might still try a manual factory reset on the hub, if you still encounter problems. the temp will correct on the next reading.

It seems only one link is set to the motion sensor. The interface reports there are 6 but it stops linking after the first. Maybe this is a problem.

i would manually factory reset the MS, and then use the plugin to run the "program device for homeseer" routine. do not remove the device from the plugin.

The last suggestion did the trick. Now I have all links, have received temperature, light level, hearthbeat and of course occupancy. Thanks for the help.
