    New to Insteon, hub advice

    Good Day,

I have decided to update from my current HS3 on a computer to an Insteon hub. My devices are about 50/50 Insteon switches like the Smarthome 2477S devices and the rest are various X-10 outlets, switches and motion sensors of the Eagleeye type.

My question is which hub or device would be my best bet to begin my migration over to Insteon control? I would like to continue using HS3 with the Insteon Plug-in, but I am open to all suggestions.

Thanks in advance for any guidance you can offer.

    Mike

the best insteon controller is the 2413S (serial), the next option is the 2413U (usb). These connect directly to your hs3 server.

Or you can use the insteon hub with the insteon plugin/hs3 as well but its my least favorite from a reliability standpoint.

the 2413 controllers support x10 but not wireless x10. you will need an rfxcom receiver (or similiar) for the x10 wireless devices and the associated plugin.
