Strange behavior after group All-Off command

Hi experts,

I have been using HS3 for quite some time now. I am experiencing a strange issue after broadcasting an Insteon group command that I just cannot seem to resolve no matter what I try. I have tried searching as well (my normal go-to) but cannot seem to find any similar threads or solutions. I am currently running v3.0.6.0 of the plugin and HS v 3.0.0.435.

I am using a KPL (fw45, Comm Reliability = 96%) button configured as Non-toggle On type as a controller for an Insteon group which contains 86 participants. I use this button as my "All Off" command (usually when leaving the house) with each of the group participants configured with an "Off" setting so that they turn off when the KPL button goes "On". It works exactly as I want it to; all lights cut off instantly and almost simultaneously upon the "All Off" button press.

However, the issue I am having is that after I "All Off", sometimes I immediately (within a couple seconds) need to turn a light back on (say if i need to go back inside because I forget something). However, as soon as that light comes on, it gets cut back off. Turn it back on, it cuts right back off. This will go on for about 10-seconds. It's almost as if the group command is being resent multiple times.

I usually leave my interface Command retries = 5, but have tried setting this to 1 and it made no difference other than negatively affecting how devices respond. My Maximum Hops = 3 and my Perform group clean-ups when transmitting group commands is false (unticket).

Any suggestions? I know a plugin update is currently available (v3.0.7.2) but I try to avoid updating unnecessarily if everything else is working as it should due to bad experiences in the past.

Have you tried unchecking "Perform group clean-ups when transmitting group commands?"

The down side is it can reduce the reliability of group commands...

Enable Detailed logging and review the log after this issue occurs. the plugin is clearly doing something

post the log snippet and highlight the different switch transactions

Yes, I have tried it both checked and unchecked. Did not make a difference.

I've looked at the logs but was not able to discern anything that suggested anything that was obvious to me.

Below are the logs. The first is after I hit the "All Off" button. The second is running the group manually. Note, I triggered these remotely from the HS webpage since I am not physically at the the house right now.

Sorry for the delay in responding, I have been out of town. The "Sync linked responder devices" is turned off (unchecked) on all of my KPLs. Unfortunately, I have found that I need to turn this off and leave it off because if I don't I will experience a terrible lag with my custom HSTouch interface that I run on a dedicated Amazon Fire 7. Long story short, with "Sync linked responder devices" enabled on a KPL, my HSTouch interface will lock up if I turn on a responder from the HSTouch interface and then all Insteon devices will become unresponsive for about 5-seconds (from the interface). So, rather than troubleshoot this to a complete solution, I found that it I just turn this option off my problems went away.

you didn't mentioned the version you are running, but did say you aren't running the latest. i would suggest upgrading.

you can back up your hs3 setup if you need to roll back.
