Going to get a backup PLM. 2412s or 2413s?

Insteon is a major part of my device population. It all comes thru a 2412s PLM. Works great! My PLM is over 10 years old. If it goes belly up, I'd prefer to be able to recover quickly. To that end, I'm going to get another PLM and have it ready if needed. My current one is a 2412s which is not dual band. The 2413s is dual band. Both are serial. I do have some wireless insteon devices and I also have some dual band dimmers. They work fine and the comm stats are acceptable.

Does anyone have any strong opinions on either the 2412s or the 2413s? Seems like there were complaints on the power supply on the 2413s.

    Thanks,

    Robert

The 2413 is fine. The USB version is just as good now too. Can you even find a new 2412 anymore. If you do, it was probably made years ago.

A 2413S (or U) will make your Insteon response times quicker and comm more reliable because you'll be going RF directly from the interface instead of translating from powerline to RF. Definitely go for the 2413.
