    Broadcast command 14 ignored

I have a Insteon mini remote 8 scene. Sometimes I see this message in the log.

Jan-27 08:09:04 Insteon Ignoring Group Broadcast: Device Master Bedroom Mini Remote 1 (3E.FF.60) is group broadcast source (tgt group/button:10) sending cmd 14

    Is this important?

No, it can be ignored. its basically an errant message since the remote doesn't have a group 10 (ie button 10). I see similar msgs every once in a while from my controlinc.

I was going to start a new thread but this is related, so I figured I would just add it here.

Evidently I've been seeing these same types of messages as well for some time (unknown how long, they go back to the beginning of my current log). Here is what I have been seeing with my mini-switch remote:

There are two weird things happening here. One is the fact that the command changed on the 12th from 13 to 12. The second is that the master bathroom light actually responds to this command. I noticed this for the first time when the bathroom light woke us both up at 4AM when it came on. When I looked in the log, there was no indication in the log that the bathroom light had actually changed state. At first I thought perhaps that the BLOccupied had somehow gotten turned on, but I checked that it hadn't, and even when it is on, all of its actions show up in the log. The second time I saw this happen, the next night at 1:30AM, I immediately checked the log and found this message; I thought perhaps that the light had gotten bumped or something, but it's not linked to the bathroom light at all. I have no idea why the bathroom light would respond to this broadcast message, but it definitely is.

This is the only light that responds to the broadcast. Everything else ignores it.

Any thoughts on what I can do about this?

command 12 is a Fast On, 13 is an Off

try a factory reset, then put it into linking mode, and use the 'reprogram device' function to rebuild the links.

do no delete the device from the plugin

I will try that. Any thoughts as to why a device would respond to that message at all, especially one that isn't supposed to be controlled by that device? As I said, it's not the bedroom light that's listening to that message, it's the bathroom light, which has no link to the bedroom remote. The only connection would be the fact that they are both part of some of the same groups, but the rest of those groups are ignoring the broadcast.

One question: do you mean I should factory reset and rebuild the remote, or the bathroom light switch?

Do both but one at a time and retest in between. Start with remote

Okay. It took me a few days to test (the broadcast message is sent basically once per day). Factory-resetting the mini-remote did nothing except reset the 21.5-hour timer of the broadcast message. Factory-resetting the SwitchLinc did cause it to ignore them, however. We shall see if this is the end of it; I have also contacted Insteon Support to see if there is a way to ultimately stop the broadcast messages altogether.
