    Temporary replacement of wall dimmer

I need to send a bad 2466DW wall dimmer back to Smart Labs for a replacement. I do not have a spare at home but I do have a spare 2466SW wall switch. Can I temporarily replace the bad DM with my spare SW and have it turn on at night (dim 50%) and off in the morning even though I send it dim commands in my events? Obviously it will come on at 100% brightness as it is not a dimmer. Or will it come on at all? That is what I am asking. I will swap back the new DM dimmer when Smart Labs gets my bad one and sends me a replacement.

i'm not sure you can use the "replace this device" function to swap in a relay switch for a dimmer. It may not let you do that. but i think you can use the on at 50% to turn a relay on. it basically ignores the dim level and just responds to the on cmd.

you might just need to register the relay switch as a new device and sub it into your events and groups
