    Insteon Devices Turned on - Change to 99%...solved

    so this is something new, its been happening for a little while not, this is the first time i had to troubleshoot
    if i turn on a light device (Insteon Light)
    and use the ON toggle, weather its, on the web page, via a HSTOUCH screen, anywhere, it turns on, THEN reverts to 99%
    so whats driving me nuts, is my hstouch screens DONT show lights as being on.. since i have the tracking set to Toggle on/off, and when it reverts to 99% it DOESNT see it as ON!

    can you post a pic of the status/graphics tab of the device in question

      Hey Mark so
      just wanted to mention a couple things.
      1, this happens on ALL light devices, NOT just one device, and it does not happen with switch devices..
      2, this was happening on HS3, i JUST literally upgraded this morning to HS4, thinking it had to do with the HS software, and its still happening on HS4..
      ALSO not realizing you havent 100% migrated to HS4 compatibility,

        this was a known issue in hs3 with hstouch. HS3 didn't like having multiple controls (a button and slider) that contained an overlapping value)

        I have changed the status/graphics in my (in progress) hs4 plugin to account for this shortcoming.

          you can try the following fix

          stop the plugin

          edit the insteon.ini
          add the following line to the [config] section

          Code:
          Switch99toOn=True
          save and close, and restart the plugin

            Hey Mark
            Ok so i added that line, and it appears in the cfg file
            however, it still seems to display 99%
            i stopped the plug in, made the change, saved and restarted the plug in.
            i also reopened the file to confirm my change stuck.
            it did move it alphabetical order BUT its still there
            let me know
            Just to confirm the QUOTE above shows HTML Coding, I just added it as follows
            .....
            NumRetries=5
            SortDeviceLinks=0
            Switch99toOn=True
            UseLocation2=0
            ....

              so if you slide the dimmer/slider all the way to the right, the status doesn't change to On?

              this is what was supposed to happen

                  Not sure why the ON button isn't turning the light On to 100%. Your above stat/graphics definitions look correct. please compare with other devices just to make sure.

                  'm not making any changes to the hs3 plugin in support of HS4. We'll have to wait for hs4 plugin which should be out in beta very very soon.

                      if you reboot your hs server, is the plugin able to connect to the PLM? if so, run a reset and reprogram interface from the plugin config page.

                        I've rebooted a few times, and it DOES communicate, from time to time, its just Super unreliable..
                        please see log entries of retries, etc..
                        The commands eventually WORK, and lights go on and off, BUT it takes several seconds to a minute
                        Do you recommend me going BACK to HS3?

                          were you able to run the reset and reprogram on the interface?

                          if you didn't have any of these problems in hs3, then yes, rollback.
