      Can't link 2476

Has anyone had problems linking the 2476 V4.35?
      HS V 2.4.0.3
      PLC V 1.2.3.4

Switch is recognized, but won't link with tap or manual. Error:
"Tap-add of SwitchLinc V2 600W Dimmer failed: The device properties could not be read. Communication failure. The device was not added."
I have attempted this with 2 of these switches. I have linked other devices.

HS Error log. (IP shows 12.45.53 - 12.45.52 marked on device)

          Mark,

Just wanted to let you know that i really appreciate you taking over this plugin.. I thought it was dead in the water .. which is just what happens sometimes..... It worked for me... but i was unsure about buying any more Insteon ....

But you have taken it under your wing.. and fixed some long outstanding issues, and added some very significant features.

I just want to say thanks.

I agree! I really appreciate your work on this plug-in and the responsiveness to any issues, no matter how small. Your improvements in the interface are great.

Thanks again for all your hard work.

                  Hello Mark,

Tonight I noticed that a few (3-4) Insteon lights did not go on per schedule. I then tried to manually turn them on via HS and they wouldn't go on. I then reset the PLM a couple of times. Still no luck. I also tried to re-read a few Insteon switches with no luck. I then downgraded to last previous version. Everything came back. For a bit there I thought that my PLM had failed me. I am not sure what caused this. I upgraded to current version of PLM plugin about 2 weeks ago.

I will try to re-install newest version of PLM again today and see what happens.

Pete, can you check back through your logs and see if you can find any errors or "insteon error report.log" files generated. if so, please post.

Also, do you have a USB PLM by any chance? if so, you may have just lost the usb connection and restarting hs may have fixed it. The current v1.3 has code to restart the usb com port if necessary.

                      Mark,

I turned up logging when I saw it didn't work to watch communications.

I am using a serially connected PLM. I also went to resetting a couple of switches but then noticed that they all worked again.

Will create some TXT files from ultralog and post.

The file starts with latest plugin and somewhere in the middle changing it to previous plugin.

Steps I did last night -
                      - noticed events didn't turn on Insteon Only switches (just a few events)
                      - manually tried to control switches with no response
                      - unplugged Serial PLM and plugged it back in resetting it.
                      - shut down HS and restarted it.
                      - still no response from Insteon switches.
                      - after enabling previous PLM plugin reset a couple of switches and reconfigured them just fine.
                      - checked other Insteon switches and they all worked fine.

                        Mark,

All is looking OK right now using the v1.2.2.2 plugin version.

                        Should I re-install V1.2.3.4?

If I do is there anything you want me to specfically watch for?

                          Pete,
thanks for the feedback. I haven't seen this one before.

I would suggest upgrading to V1.3--several bug fixes in the new version that exist in v1.2.3.4

if you run into this problem again, please post hs log and the section of your ini for the related devices.

btw, i think you can set your retries down to 5 or 10. If it doesn't work after 5, it's not going to work.
