Insteon plug in hanging on HS startup

For some reason, when HS starts, my Insteon plug-in initialization hangs and HS never fully starts. I'm running HS 2.5.0.49.

Any assistance you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

go into the insteon.ini and set DetailedLog=3, restart hs and post the hs startup log

if this started for no apparent reason, i think you need to do two things

1. shutdown hs, manually reset the plm (see manual) and then restart hs and see if the current plugin can access the plm. if this works, the proceed to #2, otherwise, you may have a bad PLM.

2. upgrade to the latest in the Updater (its free since you have a license) and use the new plugin to reset and reprogram the interface/plm from the plugin config page

One word of warning. a factory reset will remove any links you added manually. hs links can be recreated via the plugin

Thanks - tried what you suggested and didn't seem to work. Will order a new PLM. Do they fail often? This one is only about 2 years old....

I don't know about often. I've had a couple die so far, both still within the 1 year warranty. I keep a spare now.

Lets see how a new plm does. Mileage on these things seems to vary quite a bit.
