    Swapped out Interface-Stuff Stopped working

    mark,
am using your insteon plug in v 3.0.5.10..
my Serial plug in interface crapped out.. I ordered a new one.. used the swap interface button on the manage page..
went through all devices but for some reason, about 20-30 of them did NOT get reprogrammed..The new interface is in the same outlet as the original, and the communication I had across the board was excellent/good.. never any poor or unreachable, since the new controller it cant talk to several devices..
I tried regetting the links, and programming for homeseer, but it says the controller cant be reached.. please help.. half my system isn't working..
whats the easiest way to resolve all this>.

you can rerun the swap routine. it will only update devices with the old plm ID.

No problem. Just look on the main config page, there should be a list of devices with unregistered Insteon IDs. One of these IDs must be the old PLM.

1C.FC.8B is most likely the old PLM ID

Ok, giving that a shot now..
Im assuming that everything in that LIST should go away ONCE it has the new PLM ID correct?

only entries with that ID will disappear. you can investigate the others.

rerun the swap if it doesn't work 100%. the other option is to run the 'program device for homeseer' then delete the old links with the old PLM ID

Hmm, ok running it again seems to have made that list a lot smaller...
however still a few that aren't registered I will try running again and check the individual devices since the list is small now..
also I do have a question and this might NOT be something you can answer.. I am using the insteon thermostats, with the plug in but since the PLM change. my device references for the thermostats are gone, I was able to put a thermostat in link mode and have the plug in re-scan for it, but it didn't re-add the devices in the device page

                    glad you are making progress.

I have to refer you to the thermostat forum for help with the unit. I don't even use one myself.

If you look in the HS log, you might find some error message from the Insteon thermostat plugin complaining that it can't connect to the thermostat. I believe links are handled by the thermostat plugin, so when you changed your PLM, Mark's swap routine doesn't address the thermostat.

                      Here's my suggestion (no guaranties):
1- If you can you find the hspi_insteon_thermostat.ini in "...\HomeSeer HS3\Config", first make a backup copy of it; actually, make a backup of everything, juts in case
2- In "Plug-ins\Insteon thermostat\Insteon thermostat Config", delete your old thermostat (if it still shows)
3- Then "Add new" in "Plug-ins\Insteon thermostat\Insteon thermostat Config": this should relink the thermostat to your new PLM
4- Bring down HS and overwrite the just created hspi_insteon_thermostat.ini with your previously saved copy: you should see your programs again, once you fire up HS

Thanks for helping him out Claude.

Under Plug-ins\Insteon thermostat\Insteon thermostat Config you should have a button option off to the right of your thermostat to "Update Links" The point of that is to write the necessary links into the PLM (via Mark's plugin) so that the PLM and thermostat can talk to each other.
