a few others have reported similar issues when using the 'Read Settings' option. try changing the setting value or disabling (setting to 0)

I have installed 3.0.5.19, I tried to update to the.20 but it needed the latest of HS3, i have .149. It happen at 7 PM out of the blue, I will reset the access point and put the read values to 10, although with the setting of 4 were working great, I could get the light sensitivity fine with that setting.

        Thanks for your quick response.

          Hi Mark,
Ny unplugging the PLM device and the access point fixed the issue. Why would set the reading device to 4 cause this issue?

          Thanks

not sure why (its not the value 4 specifically), but it may be a MS fw issue.

              Hi Mark,
Sorry to bother you with this issue. I keep losing all the motion Insteon devices, I need to reset the serial 2413S by removing it from the power wait few seconds and put it back. I changed the reading devices to 10 on all of them, this did not fix the problem. Do you think that my serial 2413S is not functioning anymore? If this is the case, which interface would you suggest me to purchase, although I hope it is not it since is a little expensive for my budget right now.

set all the motion sensor readings to 0 and see if resolves the issue.

Hi there - did you ever get this resolved? I'm having a similar issue with motion sensor (firmware version 41). A couple days ago it just stopped reporting motion and battery status.

Did you try setting the polling value to 0 as Mark had suggested?

please try the 0 setting and report back. i think this is a fw issue with the older motion sensors.

                      Hi Mark,
Currently my polling is set to 2, and I want to ensure I understand the implications of setting it to 0 as you suggest.

If I set the value to 0, does this mean that the plugin will NEVER read the battery voltage level?
If this is indeed true, am I correct in assuming that I would have to rely on the (apparently unreliable) battery-low message from the sensor to indicate when I need to change the battery?

yes, a zero setting will stop reading the battery level.

I don't know a way around this battery level issue. i thought i had this great solution but the fw issue puts us back at square 1.

fwiw, i reported this to SH and they have a new fw but there is already another issue with fw 44.

I have a suspicion that sometimes HS3 seems to miss a "Motion" or "No Motion" status change and I am seeing this in two different ways. The first is a distinct delay that sometimes occurs when I enter the front hall. Sometimes the light turns ON as soon as I enter the hall while other times I can get most of the way up the stairs before the light turns ON. It is not consistent. The other ramification is that I have an event that is supposed to trigger and turn the hall light OFF when the sensor says "No Motion". Most of the time, it works fine but sometimes it seems to get stuck and the light stays on long after the room is vacant.

Last time this happened, I looked at the Device List. Nobody had been in the hall for the last 5 minutes yet the motion sensor state said "Motion". It does not happen very often but it does happen. Is there a way that I can do something about the delay? Secondly, can I create a new event that tells HS3 to poll the device and reconfirm that the motion sensor is in sync?

                          Battery level is 7.0 volts.

                            Battery level is 7.0 volts.

brian, the MS and other RF battery operated devices can't be polled for status.

                            i would suggest the following
                            1. put the ms into linking mode, reread the links and verify there is a link for the MS to report to hs. if not "program the device for homeseer"

                            2. set the MS timeout to about 1 minute. the MS only sends an ON after the timeout no matter how may times it sees motion during the countdown.

                            3. if this doesn't help, run the reset and reprogram on the interface. this will recreate the necessary links in the PLM/interface
