Possible bug when using device code?

So, I was playing around with my smoke bridge and leak sensor, as you saw in my earlier thread about $$DSC, $$DSR, etc.

Well, when I assigned a device CODE - in this case A1 - to the device... when it changes status, I saw the status change in the homeseer event log, but it did not actually update the device.

As soon as I took the code out, status changes worked again.

don't assign a code. IMO, HST screwed this feature up as it appends the code to the address field which causes plugin problems. these values should have been independent values

we need to submit the initial problem as a bug

I'm not getting anywhere with HST on this. Rich doesn't want to mess with the variable replace code even though this is a issue/bug

i would suggest setting up a custom device and use events to set its value and then reference that device by "code" in your replacement variable
