    HomeTroller Zee USB connection issues

Just upgraded my Hometroller Zee to HS3 ZEE S2 Edition 3.0.0.205 and noticed on reboot that Insteon plugin did not connect back up. I realized that I was out of date on the most recent version of the plugin so I updated that as well. It still won't connect. I've included a list of my USB devices as well as a detailed Log from the Insteon plugin.

i think you will need to factory reset it. once you are back up and the plugin connects, you can reprogram the plm using the 'update interface database'

Holding down the button while plugging in my PLM doesn't seem to do anything. The LED just stays red and it doesn't do anything. I've tried releasing after 10 seconds and 30 seconds and it just pauses and then turns green. Is this a factory reset? If so, that still didn't do anything. I'm thinking about trying to downgrade my zee to see what happens. I'll wait to hear from you. I've removed my z-wave USB to take that out of the picture.

Unplug the PLM for 30 seconds. Disconnect cable. Press and hold Set button on the PLM BEFORE plugging it in. Hold Set button for 10 seconds after plugging it in. Wait for the LED to cycle.

Nothing, just an amber light until I let go then it goes green. I'll keep trying.

I downgraded Homeseer but nothing changed.

well this is definitely a PLM issue (not HS). it just isn't responding to the plugin's initial requests

Haven't had much time to mess with this but just for fun I decided to plug the PLM back into my old HS2 machine. It fired right up and was talking directly to HS2 without issue. Not to throw another wrench into this but if the PLM was bad and wasn't responding, why would it work in my HS2 box?

there we might focus on the port that you are connecting the plm to the Zee.

This issue still haunts me and I'm not trying to dig into the FTDI drivers in Linux. I see others are having issues with the USB interface hanging at times on pi.

I think I might have fixed this issue. It seems that after doing a firmware upgrade on my raspberry pi has fixed the issues I was having.
