    Plugin not sending insteon commands

It is a bit late and I may be missing something easy. When I turn a device on/off from HS, this is all I get in the detailed logs...

    Code:
11/27/2015 11:42:54 PM - Device Control - Device: Basement Sconce Light (\1) ON
    11/27/2015 11:42:54 PM - Insteon - Processing SetIOEx for device - \1 Cmd: 2 Bright: 0 Data1: 0 Data2: 0
I don't see any insteon commands being sent. I do see commands going back and forth for the thermostat (external devcie). The device status will change on the HS web page. However, it doesn't update on HSTouch. I don't know if that is related.

It was working fine this morning. However, I am in the process of getting some hard-wired sensors going and wanted to get my Homevision working. So, I did disable/re-enable it because I wasn't able to get to the page where I set the com port for that. BTW, I also change the com port for the PLM too, but it is working. I even did a reset/reprogram on it. I can test communication and all is good. I have to say that maybe this is some weird HS issue and not a insteon plugin problem at all, but I am perplexed.

    Tom,
Please run the 'display interface links' to make sure the plm has links.

are you running the final version of hs2?

Thanks for the reply, Mark. I am pulling my hair out on this one.

I am running .80 for HS and .38 of your plugin. I think that there may be one version later for HS2. I read the links and they all there.

I didn't even think of this last night, but your plugin is getting the insteon message when the hardware light button is pressed. It just seems to do nothing when I try to control them from HS.

I don't know if this makes sense, but the main thing that I was playing around with at the time this started happening was my Homevision. It and it's plugin have X-10 capability. My theory is somehow something is confused. However, I have disabled that plugin and the unit and still have the same results. I don't know if this theory makes sense because I can see you getting the setioex in the log.

EDIT: I don't use any X-10 and that has always been disabled on all plugins. As a matter of fact, I tried to enable it on homevision and insteon and it doesn't seem to let me enable it.

Yes, I've done a reboot just to make sure. The debug setting is set to detailed and I can see other detailed logging. (I.e. when polling the thermostat or when a switch is pressed)

Here is an example from the tstat...

Just noticed this, but when I turn the light on at the switch, the device status is not getting updated on the web.

Here is the example when I try to turn off the switch from the HS web...

          Code:
11/28/2015 10:45:19 AM - Device Control - Device: Basement Projector Lights (\5) OFF
          11/28/2015 10:45:19 AM - Insteon - Processing SetIOEx for device - \5 Cmd: 3 Bright: 0 Data1: 0 Data2: 0

It kind of seems like the insteon plugin is working, but it can't communicate, somehow, with HS.

If I try to select one of the dimming percentages from the web page, it will just go back to zero -- strange. Could there be something messed up in the HS device setup? Is there anyway to recreate the HS insteon devices?

I figured you would check and recreate at startup so I tried a single device and deleted it. It did get recreated and that device now works from the web page. However, it seems that messes up my HSTouch connection when the device is recreated. I'm guessing it is linked by device id and that is now changed. Can you think of anyway to reset these HS device that won't change the ID? I have a ton of HSTouch screens and it will be a pain to have to reconfigure every button.

add the following to the [config] section of the insteon.ini and restart

                  recreatedevices=1

this will fix but not delete any existing so the dv.ref won't change

It seem like some of the devices are linked to the plugin ok. I am not sure if they were before however. It seem that none of the ones around me that I was testing with were. I can tell however, on lights, because they will show as on, but the dim level stays at zero.

Drat!, the RecreateDevices setting isn't supported in HS2.

what about rolling back to a previous insteon.ini and homeseer database?

Mark, thanks for your time today!

That would be tough. I've done a lot of work since my last backukp. I decided to browse around at the database. I could see that when the homevision plugin created it's devices, it used the same house code. Nice. I deleted the HV devices and the insteon devices, (well I only tested one so far), worked. Now I have to figure out how to get the HV plugin to not reuse that house code.

Glad you figured it out. That really sucks that the HV plugin doesn't check first.
