2413U Non Responisve on HS2 system

About 10 days ago my dedicated Windows 7 computer running HomeSeer HS2 ceased to control my X10 modules and repeatedly printed:

Startup- Error initializing PowerLinc USB: Unable to find PowerLinc USB Device
COM Plugin Error Error initializing X10 Interface: Unable to find PowerLinc USB

Since my transceiver/keypad and mini controller work OK I figured it must the Powerlinc 2413U interface. I bought a new one but I still get the same results. I now see that both the old and new are recognized by the computer when I plug them into power and USB and they show up in the Device manager as functionally operative. It is possible their failure might be related to a power outage that occurred in the time area although that is more hindsight than anything I was aware of at the time.

What am I missing or what else can I do to find out how to fix this?

some of the older v1.x 2413U will fail in this manner: the usb connection works but the plugin can't communicate with the plm.

if you have tried a factory reset and still no luck then there is an internal problem.

search this forum; others have determined that replacing one or two capacitors fixes the problem.

two things to check on the plugin config page
            -enable x10
            -set logging level to detailed

post a log snippet of the device control activities. want to make sure the plugin is transmitting the cmds.

I apologize for the confusion and delay on responding with the attachments.. There's something about the process that is confusing to me. I did manage to upload the one's I identified but I see that they were placed with my 1st attempt rather than after your latest response. I hope that are able to view them.

Larry, thanks for post, but I need a little more detail.

                    on the plugin config page
                    set logging level to "detailed"
the test control of your x10 device

finally post a hs log snippet of the device control activities. You can copy & paste the log text directly from the browser, and then paste into a Reply here. Use the editor Quote feature if you want.

The only line on the Insteon Config page mentioning log shows "DetailedLog=1". Is that what you mean?

When you say device control activities are you referring to the event log page which is what I thought I did manage to send.

you can find the log setting on the plugin config page from the Plugin Manage page. you don't need to edit the insteon.ini

                          Mark,
I finally understand and realize how to get to the config settings for the plug-in. I ve included a few lines around another attempt to turn on C8, which worked followed by trying to turn it off, which didn't. I included a short segment around that effort.

Device Control Device: Office Table Lamp (C8) ON
do you see something similar with the OFF cmd?

The OFF command doesn't seem to register in any way. However if ieave the light ON and reboot I can issue the OFF command and it works but it won't turn back ON
