Have you tried building the RCS Serial Thermostat Example to see what it does? I just built and deployed the vanilla code and created a thermostat so I can look it over.

Don't go by what that RCS Plugin does, its not complete -- I built it and gutted the serial port interface, changing it to use MQTT so I could hook up my enviracom stuff. I have it displaying the data on HSTouch now, and updating the setpoints. I haven't figured out the modes yet but that's just more investigation on my part.

I will put my updated source code on github in a day or so, when I get things more complete. If you want to look at it sooner, just ping me -- this is not something I'm going to keep closed as I think the information will benefit other plugin developers.
