Update process for ISYInsteon on HS3

The process to update the ISYInsteon plug-in is not always obvious. So I've tried to document the process with pictures.

First you need to download the ISYInsteon .zip file. The latest version of this is available in ISYInsteon Beta for HS3 post at or near the top of this forum section. You also need to download the updater_override.txt file from the same post. Both of these files change with every release so you need both of them.

Copy the updater_override.txt file to your HomeSeer directory. On my sytstem this is c:\Program Files(x86)\HomeSeer HS3 but this could be different on your system.

Copy the .zip file to the Updates3\Zips folder in your HomeSeer directory.

Then, using the HomeSeer web interface go to the PLUG-INS -> Manage Screen. The bottom of the screen should look something like this:

Press the "Update Listings" button. That should cause HomeSeer to read and process the update_override file.

When it is done processing the file, click on the small yellow circle with the triangle that's to the left of the "Update Listings" button. That will expand the page and it should now look something like:

Click the little yellow circle with the triangle to the left of "Test Plugin" This should expand the screen again so that it looks like:

Check the checkbox next to the plug-in and a "Download and Install" button should appear just above. Click on that button to install the plugin.

This will stop the currently running ISYInsteon plug-in (if it's running), copy in the new version, and then restart the plug-in.

You can now delete or rename the updater_override.txt. If you don't, you won't be able to get official updates from HomeSeer.
