    Fan Control Switch Status Graphics/Text

DonMor I have one of the Radio RA2 fan switches with the Low/Medium/Medium-High/High modes. I can control the switch within HS3. However the value of the device is different when I use the wall switch than when I control it through HS3. As a result, if I use the wall switch to turn on the fan, the correct status graphic and speed value do not display within HS3. Here are the values of the device at the various speed setting when using the switch and HS3:

    Fan-Speed............Set With Switch......Set with HS3

    Off .................................0 ...........................0
    Low ...........................25.49 .......................25
    Medium .....................50.59....................... 50
    Medium High .............75.69....................... 75
    High.............................100 ........................100

This is also causing problems when I try to create a script to increase the value of the fan speed.

Can you fix this within the plugin? Or is there a workaround? Thanks.

Ok I never had the switch, do you always have the same result number when you press the wall switch, if so I will round-up the number?

    Low 25.49
    Medium 50.59
    Medium High 75.69

I tried it 2 or 3 times and got the same number each time.

Hi Don--are you going to update the plugin, or do I need to make some changes to the devices?

Can you make a test for me, change the 25 for 25.49, 50 for 50.59 an 75 for 75.69.

I’m not sure if we can use dec. in the edit status text.

          after I’ll update the plugin

          thanks

Don--I made the changes you suggested. It all seems to work fine now, except that for some reason, when I first turn on the fan with the Lutron switch, the fan comes on at 74.9. So the device does not have a Low/Medium/High status at that time. Otherwise, medium high always gets set to 75.69. I have no idea why, but this behavior seems consistent. Here is the Status Graphics tab:

Here is the log. You can see the value of 74.9 when I first turned on the fan. As I adjusted it with the switch, the log shows values of 50.59, 25.49, 50.59, and then 75.69. The 74.90 value only appear when you first turn on the fan with the Lutron switch.

OK so we better go with a range without dec. instead single value

                              Don--

Any progress on this? I really need to get my fan control up and running.

                              Thanks,
