    Ok so ive been pulling whats left of my hair out on this one.

    im trying to control ws2812 leds using a nodemcu (esp8266) and fastled. im currently trying to use this firmware:

    it apparently needs the following syntax:

    mosquitto_pub -t 'SmartHome/Office/LED/set' -m '{"effect":"sine hue","state":"ON"}'

    i have managed to get it to work by sending topic:SmartHome/Office/LED/set payload: {state:ON}

    what i am trying to work out is how to make mcsMQTT match this payload from a homeseer button.

    does anyone have any ideas, including a new firmware!

      It looks like it is expecting a JSON formatted payload from HS/mcsMQTT. I have not tried this, but should be able to set payload template on Edit tab to {state:$$STATUS::}
      $$STATUS: during transmit will pick up the label of ON or OFF assuming the VSP's have this text.
