Sonoff SV Power draw curiousity question

    Michael McSharry

Just wondering about the power draw of a SonOff SV (going to another one) sitting in my automobile when off for a new project.

This would be to remote start the automobile and post inside temperature of automobile; well and maybe integrate it with the Amazon Echo.

For the relay / toggle I would just connect this to an FOB (modded) similiar to the way I did my digital garage door button.

wifi is not very conducive to battery operation. Probably multiple amps per day. Other forms of RF would be better suited. It may be different solutions for temperatures and starter.

      Thank you Michael.

Googling SonOff SV projects last night did notice premature failures of these devices similiar to what happened to me testing the Sonoff SV.

Here am on and off with the remote control starting stuff. Some automotive folks state it is not good to let a car sit idling rather than driving it right away when it is cold or hot.

Here with temps at zero or below I would prestart the vehicle anyhow...but it really did not warm up much until I would start driving it...and stuff like the steering wheel heater, seat heaters do not go on if left on when the car is off. The garage temps though were always higher than the outside temps anyhow...
