I was doing an update anyway so I made the Client ID a text box on the General Tab, Broker setup. It is at http://mcsSprinklers.com/mcsMQTT_3_5_7_0.zip

I am not aware of any constraints for username or password. The clientID is defined by mcsMQTT as mcsMQTT on <hostname> where <histname> is the network name where mcsMQTT is hosted.

I have never used Cayenne, but looking at their website for MQTT API it seems that your account is assigned a clientid rather than the clientid being selected by the client.

If you can confirm that you can login from another client then I can provide option to let user edit the clientid of mcsMQTT.
