    Hi Pete,

Did you flash it with serial programmer or wifi?

I flashed the S31 Smart Socket switch with the serial programmer. Posted pictures above.

Have nine devices up now. 1 was WiFi flashed and 8 were serially flashed.

I have gave up for now with MQTT.
To best of my knowledge, i have followed instructions, on this forum, youtube, etc and i can not make it work. Plane simple, way over my head.
Instead, i have ordered 5 pack switches from HS website.

I will probably attempt again to make it work when i have " nothing else to do "

Is anybody interested to provide paid remote assistance ? I understand that nobodies time and effort is free and i respect that.
Instead pulling switches out of the walls, may as well make them functional. I'm serious. I will provide access to the hardware.

        Best Regards,
        Tim

          Don't give up Tim.

What are you running Homeseer 3 or 4 on?

I recall you configured a few in wall WiFi switches (updated firmware on them) and now you are at configuring the S31A's.

Once they are configured to chat MQTT; rest is easy. What specfically are you having issues with?

PM me and I may be able to help you remotely.

Same here. Open up remote access to the IP of the device and I will configure it for you. email is mcsSolutions at centurytel dot net

I have several examples in the mcsMQTT manual. Below is one

                Hi Pete,

Im not proud of myself thinking of giving up. Im capable of making my own boards, but programming is my weak side. Also i can recognize point of which i'm not making any progress and just wasting my time. I'm working really long hours and when i get home, last thing i want to do is getting frustrated with programming.

Worst thing would be if i have forgotten dot or comma somhewere.

I have 4 Costco Dimmers that im trying to integrate in the HS. They are installed and flashed with Tasmota firmware.
I tried to flash S31A wirelesly but didnt work. Now i'm waiting for serial programmer to arrive. ( Amazon)

                  Thank everyone,

I will send you HS user name and password to log in and i'm assuming that you will need also access to dimmer web page to configure MQTT settings too?
I have paid version of Splashtop so you would have complete access to my PC that running HS3 and IP 192.168.1.17 to access dimmer config page.

                  Would that be ok?

                            Michael McSharry

                            I suggested to Tim to:

1 - create a new sudo user on the RPi (Mosquitto server)
2 - create a long password for sudo user

Open up the firewall to SSH port (22) to the IP of the RPi.

This creates a poor mans VPN connection (sort of).

Connect to the RPi via SSH and a reverse proxy.

Configure your internet browser to use a reverse proxy which will give you html access to the IP of the Tasmota device or Homeseer or any html device on Tim's network.

                            IE:

                            ssh -D 8888 mike@internetip

configure your browser internet connection to use
                            1 - manual proxy
                            2 - socks host : 127.0.0.1
                            3 - port: 8888

Then with your browser you can go to the IP of the tasmota device.

                              Hi Pete,

I have Shaw Cable internet router and after that another that can give me 2 IP addresses. It that means that i have to do same procedure on both routers?

                                No.

The above mention of the RPi configuration would provide a stepping stone to your network and html access to any device on your network.

                                OR

If you do not want to tinker with your firewall and or RPi you can install Teamviewer on your main Homeseer box.
