    Read before upgrading

Please read carefully before upgrading to the HS4 version of the Plugwise Pro Plugin!

This Plugin dates back to 2014. A lot has changed since then. If you are considering upgrading to the HS4 version (plugin version 4.1.0.0 and higher), please note the following important changes:

The following upgrade paths are supported:
    • Upgrade from 4.0.0.x
You can upgrade directly from 4.0.0.x. As the setup has completely changed, it is strongly advised to validate if all your gateways and settings have been migrated successfully. All devices will be migrated as-is, except Smile P1 v2 devices, they will be removed and new devices will be created.
    • Upgrade from 3.0.x.x
Recommended is to remove all Plugwise devices from HS4 first and start fresh. If you have a lot of scripts and events referencing your HS4 devices, upgrading is possible but does require quite a few steps. You will have to upgrade to 4.0.0.x first. This version can be found in the HS4 “Add Plugins” section, under the “Legacy Plugins”. Make sure to install "Plugwise Pro" (the paid version, you should get a 30 day trail, do not use "Plugwise free Legacy" or "Plugwise Pro free Legacy"!).

Please see the release notes for all changes in version 4.0.0.x. After the upgrade is complete and you have ensured that all devices are working properly, you can upgrade to the current version.
    • Upgrade from other versions, including the non-Pro version is not supported.
If you choose to use an unsupported upgrade path, it is highly recommended to stop the plugin, remove all Plugwise devices and features from HS4, and remove the plugin, before installing this version.

    Other changes

There a other changes in this version that you should know about.
    • As the setup has completely changed and gateways need to be setup again, please check all setting to make sure they match your preference.
    • All HomeSeer devices and features will be migrated, except of the Smile P1 v2 devices. They will be removed and new devices will be created. Smile P1 v3 devices will be migrated normally. This might be a good time to request an update of your Smile P1 to v3 from Plugwise. Depending on your date of purchase this might be free of charge.
    • Devices containing any unit of Watt or Watt Hour, will behave differently:
      • The VALUE will now always be in W or Wh (previously it was either in W/Wh or kW/kWh, depending on the device)
      • The STRING (or display status) can now be configured by a setting. It can be automatic, which means it will change from W(h) to kW(h) to MH(h) to GH(h), depending on the value. You can also specify a fixed unit in the setup.
      • As the VALUE will always be W(h) is should be easy to use in scripts or events. But if the value was in kW(h) before you might need to change your calculations to W(h).
