    No Energy Devices?

    Hi,

I have a HS110 Plug, which discovers all right with all methods (tried IP, Broadcast & Kasa), but doesn't create any energy related devices in HS. There's a master device called "TPLinkSmartHome Config" and another one for the plug itself with On/Off buttons and nothing else. On/Off works fine.

The Casa-App on the phone shows the energy values.

    The device is discovered as

    SmartPlug Models: HS110(EU)
    SmartPlug Energi Models: HS110(EU)

    Any idea where to look?

    Cheers,
    Alex

The setup screen has some checkboxes that tell the plugin what support devices to create. Do you have those checked? If not turn them on and the plugin will create the additional devices. Give it about 10 minutes since it checks for those type of changes at a longer interval.

      Hi James,

Yes, the boxes were always checked. I believe they are that way by default. I've never touched them.

I have about 900 devices in my HS, so sometimes devices kinda get lost, but I've looked into every corner - those energy devices aren't anywhere to be found. The plug has now been discovered for a couple hours. I've even contacted a battery charger to ramp up some kWh, but up to now nothing's happened.

      Cheers,
      Alex

On the plugin status page, can you expand the arrow labeled "The following TPLink device models..." and send a snip of that section.
Also, in the plugs device config there should be a "TPlinkSmartHome" tab. After you click on the "Get TPlink Details" can you tell me what it says on the "Features" field?
Lastly, can you also send me a snip of the "TPLinkSmartHome" tab of the "TPLinkSmartHome Config" device.

Just added a second plug of the same type, just to make sure the other one isn't broken in any way. Same thing - only the switch itself, no energy stuff. They are both on the latest firmware according to the KASA app.

It does look like a bug. Let me dig in tonight and get you a test version to figure this out. Thanks for bringing it up.

I am missing the config snip for the devices. Click on the test1 device and then click the TPLinkSmartHome tab and click on the get the details . See attached.

                    Hi James,

The info you're looking for is actually at the top of my response:

                    Device/TPLinkSmartHome/TPLink Details/Features says "Features : TIM|ENE"

And no hurry. You're providing this for free, so please take your time. I promise I won't ask for my money back ;-)

I now have a version posted in the beta part of this form (version 19.9.19) which will give me additional info. Please go to the setup page, click on debug and turn on the debug checkbox. After about an hour, please check your log and filter based on "TPLinkSmartHome Debug" and send me a snip it of the earliest ones. The entries will look like this.

                            Code:
                             [TABLE="class: log_table_row, cellspacing: 0"]
