I am attempting to go from .44 to .45 and I get a repeated fail when I try to install. I disable the plugin before attempting install but that does not seem to help.

what exact message do you have in the logs when it fails?
Note that .45 has been created for one user which has some input modules which were not handled by the plugin. It's a beta version and I haven't got any feedback from this user yet. So you may want to wait before installing it. -
I will try disabling the plugin and rebooting before I attempt installation if I decide I want this update that appears to be specific to one user.Updater Error Copying source to D:\Homeseer master November 2018\HSPI_UPBSpud.exe, detailed error: The process cannot access the file 'D:\Homeseer master November 2018\HSPI_UPBSpud.exe' because it is being used by another process.. This was after I disabled the plugin. Comment

If after disabling the plugin you still have this error, you need to kill the HSPI_UPBSpud.exe process from task manager.Comment
