new user: recommendations?

I am going to start with upb and the HS plug-in.

What are your recommendations for a PIM for the plug-in?

Is a phase coupler necessary?

This seems like a good deal but I don't want to do lighting right now as I have a z-wave system that works good.

My main initial use is to control some 20amp circuit motors in two evaporative coolers. Can't seem to find a upb device to do that. Is there one?

If you can't find a UPB device to do this then why are you going with UPB?

The page you listed is a darn good price for a UPB starter kit. It's a serial PIM, that you need for HomeSeer. You may or may not need the phase coupler but it's cheap insurance to make sure decent signals get to both phases.

PCS makes a 20amp relay module. I believe it's a model FMR-1 but there may be others as well.

Rupp is right though, if you have a good functioning Zwave system already installed maybe the Zwave relay modules would work for you?

Thinking of going with UPB as the pump motors and coolers are not currently reachable with my z-wave system...
