I’m wondering if there is any way to make it work?

I'm guessing maybe the mono version is too old for the plugin. What mono version is installed?

          Code:
          mono -V

I just found this error from the log after reinstalling the plugin:

                Code:

Warning, Cannot load EXE file (possibly missing dependencies) HSPI_Chromecast.exe: Exception of type 'System.Reflection.ReflectionTypeLoadException' was thrown.Warning, Error details with EXE HSPI_Chromecast.exe: Could not load file or assembly 'System.Runtime, Version=4.0.10.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a' or one of its dependencies.
Hope it helps to diagnose the problem

HSPI_ChromeCast? That's not even this plugin.

Oops, forgot to share the full context: given that the mono framework may be the problem, I tried to install another plugin using mono too. I picked chromecast and installed it together with Wemo. Then, I found this detailed error log.

The chromecast plugin error was actually very helpful, and led me to a discussion of installing mono-complete, which actually resolved the problem of wemo too.

my 2c of this issue: probably, you may consider to produce some error log, instead of failing silently. It will better help other users and you to diagnose the problem
