    HS3 TI103 problem?

    Hi,

I have a CTX35 (which is said to be protocol compatible with TI103) connected to a Digi PortServer II 16. This setup was working with HomeSeer 2 Pro for years without any issue. I now reinstalled my PC and thought I check out HS3. Can't get the TI103 to work.

When the plugin (HSPI_X10.exe) starts, it says 'Connected. Waiting to be initialized', and that is where all the magic stops. Nothing after that.

I have tested that the TI103 actually works. I am able to control my lights using CTX test software without any issues. Only HS3 seems to have issues.

    Any ideas?

I may have find the issue. I believe the CTX35 may not be 100% protocol compatible, as in HS2 it also shows an error while initializing the module:

    12/17/2013 5:14:49 PM - Plug-In - Initializing X10 Plug-in: ACT TI103 On COM Port 4
    12/17/2013 5:14:49 PM - Plug-In - Initializing Plug-in: ACT TI103
    12/17/2013 5:14:49 PM - Info - TI103 Plug-in, Version 2.0.5
12/17/2013 5:14:53 PM - Error - TI103: Unable to communicate with TI103. Check if port defined or cable connected.
12/17/2013 5:14:53 PM - COM Plugin Error - Error initializing X10 Interface: ERROR: Unable to communicate with TI103

To get things going I need to sent out 1 command, and that brings my CTX35 to life. I need to repeat this every half hour or so, to prevent the CTX35 to go into some sort of sleepmode.

Perhaps the HS3 TI103 plugin is mode strict and waits for the module to get initialized? Could HS Developers maybe modify this plugin to allow for CTX35 modules to work as well?

I am now unable to upgrade to HS3 and alot of people in Europe use the Xanura CTX modules.

I have been using the CTX35 for many years on HS2 without any problem. With HS3 (on the same computer) it won't work. Rupp's suggestion doesn't address the problem, I'd rather stick to HS2 instead of buying new hardware.
