  • Neo Zwave Plus Outlet

I got a few of these smart outlets. They work well, but they report power meter info too often. I do not want to disable reporting because I use the to detect if my TVs are on. I found a manual for the device https://www.cd-jackson.com/zwave_dev...Z-wave-Neo.pdf. According to it parameter 2 should allow me to change reporting interval. I have set the interval multiple times but it does not have an impact. Anyone used the same device and can test?

When you set parameter 2, did you specify that it was a "2-byte" setting. If not, be sure to do that. Otherwise, the parameter won't set properly. All of the other parameters are 1-byte.

Just reading their manual and that has to be one of the worst translated ones I've seen

      Some of my favorites:
      • Make sure of that power plug is in the z-wave network.
      • When the power plug is on, LED light keeps being green.
      • When the power plug is off, LED light keeps being out.

I did set the 2-byte setting. From the log it appears to work for a little while but then reports repeatedly.

For some of my more chatty devices, I go into the device page and tell it to not log commands. That usually shuts them up.

That just means that the changes they send are not recorded in the log. They are still generating the (unnecessary) z-wave traffic.

You can check the value it is set to by selecting the parameter number, leaving the Value field blank and then clicking on Set. What does it report back? Check Parameter 6 as well. It seems to be reporting much more than what the defaults are supposedly set to.

Found the solution with parameter 6 Configure power report. Any time the power consumption moved more than the default 30% the device would broadcast.

logbuilder I could disable logging, but my concern was more about zwave communication / congestion.
