    UZB restore from Z-Stick

Just got my ZWave.me UZB and updated the firmware to the latest, 5.0.4. Upon following the HST steps of restoring an Aeon ZStick to SmartStick+, I am unable to restore my zwave nodes to the UZB. The status (below) shows the restore is successfull, but when I test the node connectivity, it says no nodes found. Are the steps for restoring to a UZB differnent than the SmartStick+? What am I doing wrong?

    Code:
    Checking file...
    Starting restore operation.

I noticing that it's not successfully restoring the nodes as well as the HomeID to the UZB. After it restarted the the controller, it shows just one node in as well as a NEW HomeID.

What's causing this? I've tried removing the Zwave .54 plugin, deleting the Zwave folders and .ini files.

Also to note, even after I removed the old ZStick interface, the network re-appears after re-enabling the ZWave plugin.

I have also discovered that the restore feature doesn't work with a version 5.04 UZB1 stick.

I'm sure I tested it before with an older version UZB1 and it did work. Perhaps someone with a spare older version of UZB1 can try it and confirm.

Apparently the Z-Wave.me units use a customised backup / restore feature which does work with their Z-Way software although I haven't tried it myself.

You're absolutely correct. My unit came with 5.0.2, which DID restore the nodes, but not the Home ID. I then followed jon00 steps of installing the ZWay server and updated the firmware to 5.0.4. After that, neither the nodes or the Home ID restores.

          Blame me then

I have 2 UZB which were both on 5.0.1 (now 5.0.4). When I tried to restore on 5.0.1 a few weeks back it failed.

LOL, not at all dude, you've been helpful. So this might be an issue with Z-Wave.me itself? I wonder if their support will help out considering this is a Homeseer restore.

Does anyone know if there's any other way of getting the HomeID and nodes from my ZStick to the UZB1? I feel trapped!!

You can add the UZB1 as secondary and promote it to primary afterwards.

How would I go about moving the nodes over to the new UZB1 Home ID?

If you add the UZB as secondary to your Zstick the Zstick will send it's ID and nodes.

                    Look at this thread. http://board.homeseer.com/showthread.php?t=176106

I'm wondering if my UZB1 is bad cause I can't even send the network info from my Homeseer box to it. It times out. This is with the trial HS3 laptop one feet away. It's odd because the log shows that the UZB1 is detected fine. How can I test it?

                        Maybe it's on EU frequency?

Unfortunately I don't know how to see the frequency.

It WAS on the EU frequency, which I believe was switched via the 5.0.4 firmware update. It didn't make a difference though, when I switched it to US (via Z-Way), it still didn't receive any info from HS3. And to note, I DO have the US version of the UZB1, mode number is ZMEUUZB1.

As a test to see if it was working, I just launched HS3 trial on a laptop, added the UZB1 interface and just simply tried to add a GE Switch. It added without any issues and I was able to turn on/off the light. So I know the UZB1 is somewhat functioning. I'm just not sure if the UZB1 with the 5.0.4 is fully supported in HS3. We may need an update to the Z-Wave .54 plugin to support the Restore/Receive functionality of the UZB1. Hope HST is watching this thread.

Has anyone submitted a bugzilla on this issue? I keep backups and a spare UZB1 for the day my main controller fails, but that's not going to be much good if the restore doesn't work. I had upgraded both my main and spare UZB1s to 5.0.4 firmware.

Yep, created the Bugzilla yesterday as soon as I noticed this. Also, it seems that the Z-Way server (HS3/Z-wave plugin equivalent) has issues with restore as well. It was fixed with their latest 2.2 version. So cross your fingers that Homeseer can do the same, if this is the case of course.
