  • Manually add Chromecast without bonjour?

I'm hosting my HomeSeer on an external cloud server. I use a VPN connection that do not support Bonjour/multicast traffic.
Therefore I want to hear if it is passable to manually add chromecast to the plugin?

Are is it passable to run the plugin remotely?
That would mean I could have a PI remotely running the plugin on the same network.

      Yes it is possible.
Edit Config/Chromecast.ini, and add the following lines

      Code:
      [CHROMECASTS]
      123###name=Living Room
      123###enabled=True
      123###ipaddress=192.168.1.156
      123###type=Google Home
      123###online=True
123 is the id of the chromecast, you can use whatever value you want as long as it is different for each of the chromecast you add in there.
Set name, ipaddress and type to actual values of your chromecast.

You will get an error about zeroconf at startup because Bonjour is not running, but you can safely ignore it.

It should also be possible to run the plugin remotely if you prefer, but some TTS features may not work because the plugin leverage the HS3 web server
