    No I don't think this error has anything to do with the change described in the link from OP

    This error means the plugin cannot access https://translate.google.com/ which it needs if you use the google voice for text to speech.
    So make sure you don't have a firewall or something blocking access to this url, and that it is accessible from your HS machine.
