    I realise that you are busy man but I wonder if you could take a look at an issue I am having.
    I just noticed that my HS log is full of these errors which seem to occur every 3 to 5 minutes:

    I went through the loggs for the last 10 days and this started happening since upgrading to 3.0.0.40. Prior to that I would get this occsionally relating to a chromecast device that was switched off, and at startup of HS, but not all day like is happening now.

    Obviously none of my Chromecast devices have an IP of 127.0.0.1. We have 5 Chromecast devices (audio, mini x 2, home and ultra).

    Is there an obvious cause? Or do I need to do some debugging and ini file editing. I am away from home for a while so can't easily get file access to the HS server.

    I am still having problems with the plugin disconnecting from the clients (Google home x 1, goggle home mini x 2, chromecast audio). It's annoying because the logs a filling up with errors and when the clients are disconnected the plugin lists the clients as offline. No TTS events work when the devices are offline.

    I've tired deleting the clients and rediscovering them. Also deleteing the .ini file etc.

    I realize Spud is busy with HS4 stuff, but some support would be helpful. I am aware that there is another chromecast plugin. I am tempted to ditch this one and try the other one.

    I'll see what happens over the next few days.

      So I finally got to the bottom of this issue.
      I case anyone else is having issues of a similar nature, the problem was with the firewall exceptions in Webroot Secure Anywhere. Despite HSPI_Chromecast being added to the firewall whitelist Webroot was pointing to the updater section of HS, not the HS root directory. A bug in the way Webroot handles firewall rules.
      I had to reinstall Webroot to fix the problem.

        I have never, ever, have had the disconnection problems that many have posted.
        Since 3.0.0.40 it happens once a day.
        A bit annoying, but easily fixed with an event.
        Why? What's new? I do not have a special firewall.

          I am seeing this as well.
          I get disconnects many times a day, I am running on a linux box.
          With these recent versions my reliability in TTS messages id horrible, I am guessing I get less than 30% of the messages.
          Attaching a debug file in hopes it will help.

            When I look at your logs from Dec-30 11:01:29, (when you first run version 3.0.0.44) I don't see anything wrong. I do see some disconnection and reconnection to the "Bedrooms" group but this is part of the normal process because a group can change its ip and/or port.
            Please continue to test 3.0.0.44, and record some logs where TTS fails and give me the exact time. Thanks.

              Unfortunately I've got similar issues. I totally removed the PI and all config files and tried starting from scratch with the same result. I have one Google Home two Google minis and one nest mini.

                Hmm, FWIW, I disabled Chromecast and installed AKGoogleCast, with the same result.

                  It appears both plugins had the same problem and I realized that although GH was working when addressed, it didn't show up on my IP list of active devices. I reset GH and it's back to normal now.

                    How did you reset Google Home? Did you factory reset each device or did you remove your home from the Google Home and create a new one?

                      I couldn't remember how to reset it so I removed it from my home. At that point the app showed it existed but without a room. When I went to assign it to a room it did the complete installation as if it were brand new.

                        I'm back to this same problem of constant connects and disconnects. Is there something I can do to fix this? I am no network whiz.

                          I'm circling back on this since the problem still exists. I bought another GH mini and put it right beside the PC. Much easier to test now.
                          At times, I get an error that one of the GH devices has disconnected. It has. At that point I cannot see the device as online by my Wireless Network Watcher program. However, if I speak to it, it answers and confirms it's online.

                          I'm posting here in the hopes that someone can point me in the right direction. I did install Avahi-browse (at least I think I did) on a Pi attached to the same network but it either didn't complete installation or I'm too stupid for Linux. The latter is a clear possibility.

                          I have tons of connects and then disconnects. When some of them are disconnected I cannot select them as speaker clients in an event. If they're all disconnected, I can't pick any.

                          Chromecast.txt this is a debug log. I'm not saying this is a Chromecast PI problem, but it is a problem that HS3 and the Chromecast PI have a real problem with. If anyone can help me with this I would appreciate it. FWIW, I have Altice One as my cable provider so the cable box has the router built in to it. However, this problem only recently reared its ugly head. I've had that router for 18 months at least.

                            Sounds like a wireless network problem rather than a plugin problem. This would be very difficult to diagnose via a forum as it's entierly dependant on your wifi hardware.
                            Have you tried assigning the GHs static IP addresses?
                            You could also try hardwiring the GH via a USB to ethernet adapter. Apparently the chromecast adapters work with GHs.

                              mminehan I did have them assigned static Ip addresses to no avail so now I've removed the assignment.

                              I agree this is going to be difficult to diagnose. I might try adding another router as an access point although that might just muddy the waters.

                              I am at a loss why my Wireless Network Watcher utility loses sight of them as if they're disconnected yet they are connected because they respond to requests.

                              I am inclined to think the issue lies with the built-in router. Very confusing!
