    This is just weird...

    I have a text field that has its Status Tracking set to the plug-in's Title of the current show being viewed. It looks like this, as it should, on my Fire HD tablets:

    I have one older Samsung Note 12.2" tablet that the text box now has an image with a play button. When the play button is tapped, it looks like this (lower left of the screen):


    There's nothing unusual about the text element in HSTouch Designer - it's set up the same as the ones above it.

    The old Samsung tablet does have some issues, specifically with the Sonos plug-in, but other than that it functions as expected. I'm guessing this isn't a new feature because it's correctly displayed on the Fire HD tablets, so my question is this:

    Has anyone else seen this?

    As I write this I have to get to work so I have not been able to de-bug/explore this glitch. While it's not displaying as it should, it's pretty frakking cool, and I think there would be all sorts of uses for this if it can be recreated.

    Since I created this topic, the Samsung tablet stopped doing this, started again, then stopped again. No rhyme or reason that I can see.

    I'm assuming that no one has seen an HSTouch text box with StatusTracking of a DirecTV plugin device suddenly show the video feed from the current channel (see video above)?

      That's weird (and cool)! When it does this, what is the Title device string set to? Is it some kind of URL?
      Maybe you would get more answers if you post in the HSTouch forum

        The device string was the what you see in the picture. Different tablet, same xml file, same time.

        And thanks, I'll post it in the HSTouch forum as well.

          Wow, I was trying to check out what HBO Max offers via DirecTV, but I never got the chance. As soon as the music started playing on the big screen, ALL of my tablets started playing the music:


          It came from that same HSTouch element with StatusTracking set to the DirecTV plug-in's Title device.

          I had chalked it up to the old 2014 Samsung Galaxy Not 12.2 tablet not playing well with newer software. That's not it, some of the Fire HD tablets are from the Black Friday sale a couple of weeks ago.

          I'm thinking it must be plug-in related somehow.

          spud is there anything you can think of that I can look at aside from the log to get to the bottom of this? Here's the only strange entry about the time this occurred

            Tried it again, but this time I left half the tablets on one of 2 screens with that text element, and the others on screens without it. Only the tablets on one of those 2 screens with the DirecTV text element played the video stream.

            HBO Max is a streaming channel so maybe it is DLNA related, but I'm not going to shut it off on all the tablets just because I want to try HBO Max (especially with Wonder Woman 1984 coming out on 12/25, and I am NOT going to a theater any time soon!!!).

            Set the plug-in lot to debug level. Don't know if it helps, but here's what it showed, the one error is about the time I started HBO Max:

                Thank. I suppose I could delete the element, but the purpose is to show what is currently being viewed. As you can see below, in Designer, it is simply a text field:

                It looks to me that, as far as Designer is concerned, the element should simply be text - that in this case should contain "FOX and Friends". Why do you think it would that turn into an mp4 file?
