Genie Clients Cannot be Turned On--Any workarounds?
I have a DirecTV Genie with two clients. One of the clients is in our media room where I'm trying to get it set up to tell Alexa to "Turn on TV" and everything will then be turned on, initial channel can be set etc. I found the plugin hoping that would help me set it up for control by Alexa, but discovered that the Power On/Off does not work for Genie clients on this plugin. I saw a post here confirming that was a known problem from 5 years ago. Is this still a known issue and has anyone developed a work around? If not, I'll probably just set up the Global Cache to send an infrared command for power on/off.
